The Role and Selection Principles of Magnetic Stirrers for Autoclaves
Magnetic stirrers are typically used in autoclaves. The purpose of the stirrer is to increase the reaction rate, enhance mass transfer, intensify heat transfer, and ensure uniformity of the materials. During the autoclave process, the stirring should meet the following requirements: mixing, stirring, suspension, and dispersion. Mixing refers to the uniform blending of materials with different specific gravities and viscosities achieved through the action of the stirrer. Stirring involves vigorous fluid motion induced by the stirrer, thereby improving heat and mass transfer efficiency. Suspension refers to the process by which solid particles or liquid droplets that might otherwise settle in a liquid medium are kept suspended within the liquid phase through stirring. Dispersion, on the other hand, is achieved via the stirring action, resulting in the even distribution of fine particles throughout the liquid medium.

Autoclave Magnetic stirrers are commonly used in the process. The purpose of using a stirrer is to increase the reaction rate, enhance mass transfer, intensify heat transfer, and ensure uniformity of the materials. In the high-pressure reactor process, the stirring should meet the following requirements: mixing, agitation, suspension, and dispersion.
Mixing is achieved by the action of a mixer, which thoroughly blends materials with different specific gravities and viscosities.
Stirring involves the use of a stirrer to induce vigorous fluid motion, thereby enhancing heat and mass transfer efficiency.
Suspension refers to the process of using agitation to keep solid particles or liquid droplets, which might otherwise settle in a liquid, suspended within the liquid medium. Dispersion, on the other hand, involves the use of agitation to disperse gases, liquids, or solids into a liquid medium, thereby increasing the contact area between different phases and accelerating heat and mass transfer processes.
Principles for selecting agitators for autoclaves:
1. Select based on the tank volume and material viscosity; for specific details, refer to the article on agitator blade selection that follows.
2. Select the appropriate impeller type based on the stirring speed required by the process. For rapid stirring aimed at achieving liquid mixing or forming relatively stable suspensions of solid particles, turbine-type or propeller-type impellers are recommended.
3. Based on the heating method, for jacketed heat transfer, the anchor-type agitator is recommended; for reactors equipped with coil tubes inside, the propeller-type or turbine-type agitator should be selected.
