Introduction to Key Points for Using Laboratory Reactors
The primary function of a reaction vessel is to provide a suitable environment for chemical reactions and maintain specific conditions, ensuring that the chemical reaction proceeds in the intended direction and yields qualified reaction products. The chemical process is carried out on a liter-scale under conditions closely resembling real-world scenarios, with automatic control and measurement of all critical process variables, including temperature, pressure, feed addition, stirring, reaction heat, and heat transfer. A laboratory reaction vessel is equipment used as a container for chemical reactions; its advantages include product safety, operational stability, ease of maintenance, and broad applicability. There are many important considerations that users need to keep in mind when operating a laboratory reaction vessel. Today, our editor will specifically introduce the top ten key points for using laboratory reaction vessels.

The primary function of a reaction vessel is to provide a suitable environment for chemical reactions and to maintain specific conditions, ensuring that the chemical reaction proceeds in the intended direction and yields high-quality reaction products. In laboratory settings, chemical processes are carried out on a scale close to real-world conditions, with automatic control and measurement of all critical process variables, including temperature, pressure, feed addition, stirring, reaction heat, and heat transfer. A laboratory reaction vessel is a piece of equipment used as a container for chemical reactions; its advantages include product safety, operational stability, ease of maintenance, and broad applicability. Users need to pay attention to numerous factors when operating a laboratory reaction vessel. Today, our editor will specifically introduce the top ten key points for using laboratory reaction vessels, hoping these tips will be helpful to everyone.
1. To ensure different responses from various media, the first step is to determine whether the media will corrode the base material. Reactions that involve rapid and severe responses, large amounts of gas, or highly flammable and explosive chemical reactions at high temperatures—and reactions involving ultra-high pressure, ultra-high temperature, or corrosive agents such as chloride ions and bromide ions in the medium—can cause serious corrosion to stainless steel and thus require specially ordered materials!
2. When loading the reaction medium, do not exceed 2/3 of the full capacity of the laboratory reactor!
3. Under no circumstances is pressure relief permitted during operation or at the end of operation! Water kettles must never operate under overpressure or overheating conditions!
4. When cleaning the high-pressure section, pay special attention to prevent water or other liquids from entering the furnace. Take precautions to avoid igniting the furnace. When heating the thermal oil in the heating clamp, be careful not to mix it with water or other liquids when adding the thermal oil, and check the oil level of the thermal oil regularly!
5. During startup, if any unusual noises are detected inside the isolation sleeve, immediately shut down the equipment and inspect the stirring system for any abnormalities. Regularly check the swing amplitude of the stirring shaft. For example, if the swing amplitude is too large, you should promptly replace the bearing or sliding sleeve!
6. According to the controller’s operating voltage, do not connect the live and neutral wires of the controller corresponding to the respective voltages: single-phase 220V or three-phase 380V. To prevent electric shock, do not perform any wiring operations during power transmission! To ensure the controller operates properly and to safeguard the personal safety of personnel, always connect the grounding wire! The controller itself is not explosion-proof; therefore, avoid using it in environments where flammable and explosive substances such as oil and gas are present!
7. Once the reaction temperature has been set, do not change the temperature setting during the heating process to prevent excessive temperature fluctuations!
8. Even if the controller is powered on but the heating, stirring, or other switches are not turned on, the output terminals on the back panel of the controller will still be energized. During operation, do not unplug any connectors!
9. The working time display is powered by an internal 8031 microcontroller, which calculates time by accumulating internal frequency data. Each time there’s a power outage, the internal accumulated data will be lost. During operation, the working time is displayed in minutes, with a maximum working duration of 9,999 minutes (166.5 hours)!
