A one-minute introduction to the structural principles of laboratory reactors.
With the development of society, laboratory reactors have become essential equipment for businesses. What are their advantages? First, they boast a high heat-transfer coefficient: By using a built-in plate heat exchanger to heat and cool the reaction medium inside the reactor, these reactors achieve a heat-transfer coefficient that is 40% higher than that of conventional coil-type heat exchangers. Moreover, the compact structure of plate heat exchangers makes it possible to provide sufficient heating and cooling zones even in large-capacity laboratory reactors, ensuring a more uniform and stable resin synthesis reaction process.

Moreover, the compact structure of the plate heat exchanger makes it possible to provide sufficient heating and cooling zones even in large-capacity laboratory reactors, ensuring a more uniform and stable resin synthesis process.
For enterprises, this offers significant advantages in production capacity: By replacing the traditional jacketed reactor wall with a single-layer reactor wall in laboratory reactors, the reactor no longer has to bear external pressure—or bears only minimal external pressure—thus overcoming the limitations inherent in conventional externally pressurized vessels, such as excessive wall thickness and poor heat transfer. As a result, the reactor volume can reach 30 m³ or even larger, greatly enhancing production capacity.
From the perspective of workers and technicians, large-scale autoclaves are easy to maintain: thanks to their built-in plate heat exchangers, which are removable for convenient cleaning and maintenance, these autoclaves help reduce operational failures and enhance production stability.
In summary, laboratory reactors feature large production capacity, excellent heat transfer performance, and ease of maintenance. Their application in industrial production can reduce the number of equipment units, save on capital investment for installations, decrease the number of operators, and lower production costs. Therefore, laboratory reactors are increasingly being widely used in the production of adhesives for man-made boards.
The structural principle of a laboratory reactor.
Equipped with a gas-phase valve, a liquid-phase valve (also known as an insertion-type pipe valve), a safety rupture valve, a feed valve, and a discharge valve, these can be added or removed according to user requirements. This valve features a reciprocating structure, and its sealing life is 1.5 times longer than that of a rotary valve. The rupture valves are available in two types: with dual-safety devices and with single-safety devices. The rupture diaphragm is pre-adjusted by the manufacturer before shipment and must not be adjusted or loosened at will. The pressure gauge is mounted directly above the unit.
The rotary stirring mechanism employs a cylindrical magnetic coupling structure, and the torque is determined by the magnetic materials used. Typically, highly magnetic rare-earth materials are employed, providing strong coupling forces. Powered by an electric motor, the stirrer generates sufficient stirring force via a coupling device. The agitator blades can be easily replaced by the operator; components include blades, anchors, frames, helical worm gears, and others. The choice of blade type depends on the viscosity of the substance being stirred. The seal between the vessel body and the vessel lid is triangular, ensuring a long service life.
The primary fastening and sealing mechanism employs a double-opening snap ring that can freely abut against both the kettle’s shoulder and the pot lid. By tightening the eight primary fastening bolts with balanced torque, the kettle can be sealed tightly. To disassemble the assembly, simply loosen the eight primary bolts, open the snap ring, and lift the pot lid—this process is effortless and convenient. It represents an ideal structural design for modern China. The pot lid is connected to the guide posts via lifting arms. By turning the lifting handwheel, the lifting screw moves along the guide posts, enabling the pot lid to move up, down, left, and right. The movement of the lifting arm is completely free and不受the friction-reducing effect of the ball bearings.
