Instructions for the Pressure Test Method of Hydrogenation Reactors (Part 2)
In the previous issue, we discussed the testing methods used in the hydraulic pressure test of high-pressure hydrogenation reactors. Next, we’ll explain the pneumatic pressure test: 1. During the pneumatic pressure test, safety measures must be in place, and the gas used for the test should be dry, clean air, nitrogen, or other inert gases. 2. For high-pressure hydrogenation reactors made of a single material, the medium temperature during the pneumatic pressure test must not be lower than room temperature. For hydrogenation reactors with linings or composite layers, the medium temperature must not be lower than 15°C. 3. During the test, the pressure should be increased slowly—up to 10% of the specified test pressure, but not exceeding 0.05 MPa—and held at that pressure for 5 minutes, then...

In the previous issue, we explored high pressure. Hydrogenation Reactor Regarding the testing methods used in hydraulic tests, we will now explain the pneumatic pressure test:
1. During the pneumatic test, safety measures must be in place, and the gas used for the test should be dry, clean air, nitrogen, or other inert gases.
2. During the pneumatic pressure test of a high-pressure hydrogenation reactor made of a single material, the test medium temperature must not be lower than room temperature. For hydrogenation reactors with linings or composite layers, the medium temperature must not be lower than 15°C.
3. During the test, the pressure should be increased slowly until it reaches 10% of the specified test pressure, but not exceeding 0.05 MPa. Hold the pressure for 5 minutes, then perform an initial leak detection on all welded joints and connection points. If any leaks are found, repair them and retest. After passing the initial leak inspection, continue to increase the pressure slowly to 50% of the specified test pressure. Thereafter, incrementally raise the pressure in steps, each step corresponding to 10% of the specified test pressure, until reaching the full specified test pressure. After holding the pressure for 10 minutes, reduce the pressure back to 87% of the specified test pressure and maintain this pressure for a sufficient duration before conducting another leak inspection.
