Installation and Use of Magnetic Stirred Reactors
Host Installation and Operation (1) Equipment Environment: The magnetic stirrer reactor should be placed in a high-pressure operating room that meets explosion-proof requirements. When installing multiple magnetic stirrer reactors, they should be arranged separately, with reliable explosion-proof walls providing separation between every two reactors. Each operating room must have an exit directly leading to the outside or to a passageway. If explosive media are present, the equipment location must be well-ventilated. (2) Installation and Sealing of the Reactor Lid: The reactor body and the reactor lid adopt a sealing design featuring line contact between conical and arc surfaces. Tighten the main bolts to ensure that the two components are firmly pressed against each other, achieving a reliable seal. When tightening the main bolts, do not exceed the specified torque limit.

Host Installation and Operation (1) Equipment Environment: The magnetic stirrer reactor should be placed in a high-pressure operating room that meets explosion-proof requirements. When installing multiple magnetic stirrer reactors, they should be arranged separately, with reliable explosion-proof walls between every two reactors. Each operating room must have an exit directly leading to the outside or to a passageway. If there are flammable or explosive media present, ensure that the equipment location has good ventilation. (2) Installation and Sealing of the Reactor Lid: The reactor body and lid adopt a sealing design featuring conical and arc-shaped surfaces that make line contact. Tighten the main bolts gradually and symmetrically to achieve a tight seal. When tightening the main bolts, do not exceed the torque range of 80–120 Nm to prevent crushing of the sealing surfaces and excessive wear. Special care must be taken to protect the sealing surfaces. When installing the reactor lid, lift it slowly from both top and bottom to avoid impact between the sealing surfaces of the reactor body and the lid. Tighten the main nut by applying force evenly and gradually in several steps to ensure a good seal. (3) At the connection between the male and female nuts, only rotate the male and female nuts; the two arc-shaped surfaces must not rotate relative to each other. Before assembling all threaded connections, apply oil or graphite mixed with oil to prevent seizing. (4) Avoid rapid cooling or heating to prevent thermal stresses from causing cracks due to excessive temperature differences. (5) During operation, the water jacket between the magnetic stirrer and the reactor lid should be kept circulating with water to prevent demagnetization of the magnetic steel. (6) Regarding valve usage: The needle valve uses a line-seal design; simply gently turn the valve needle to press the sealing surface tightly for a good seal. Never use excessive force, as this could damage the sealing surface. (7) Safety Device: The rupture disc is used as a safety device. Generally, do not disassemble or test it lightly. Once it ruptures, it must be replaced immediately. Rupture discs that have exceeded their rated bursting pressure but have not yet ruptured should also be replaced immediately. (8) Opening the Magnetic Stirrer Reactor: After the reaction is complete, first allow the reactor to cool down. Once cooled, reduce the pressure to atmospheric level, loosen the bolts, and carefully remove the reactor lid. Never disassemble the reactor under pressure. (9) Cleaning the Reactor: Use cleaning solutions to remove residues from the reactor body and all sealing surfaces. Do not use hard objects or soft materials with rough surfaces for cleaning. (10) Newly installed or repaired magnetic stirrer reactors must undergo an air-tightness test before being put into normal use. The medium used for the test should be nitrogen or another inert gas; flammable or explosive gases are strictly prohibited. The test pressure should be 1 to 1.05 times the working pressure. Pressure increase must be carried out in stages, with increments of 0.25 times the working pressure. Allow 5 minutes at each pressure step until reaching the test pressure, then hold at the test pressure for 30 minutes. If any leaks are detected, relieve the pressure, repair the leak, and then retest. Installation, Operation, and Maintenance of the Controller (1) According to the markings on the rear panel, connect the power cable. The wiring from the controller to the magnetic stirrer reactor includes: a two-core rubber-sheathed cable for the electric furnace, a three-core cable for the motor, and a dedicated thermocouple cable. Connect the controller’s grounding wire to the reactor’s furnace casing grounding wire and also to the power supply’s grounding line, ensuring that the grounding resistance between the magnetic stirrer reactor and the controller is less than 4 ohms. (2) Install the unit on a flat surface with a tilt angle no greater than 5° to ensure reliable operation of the measuring instruments. (3) Turn on the power switch; when the power indicator light comes on, it means the power is connected. (4) Electric Heating Operation: First, set the desired temperature on the temperature controller. Then, flip the heating switch; once the heating circuit is connected, the indicator light will illuminate. By appropriately adjusting the heating potentiometer, you can achieve stepless voltage regulation and constant temperature control, meeting the required heating rate. (5) Maintenance and Care of the Controller: Before starting normal operation, check for any abnormalities. During operation, never open the enclosure. Regularly calibrate the measuring instruments to ensure accuracy. The equipment’s operating environment must meet safety and technical requirements.
