A comprehensive checklist of safety rules for hydrogenation reactors! Click here!
The hydrogenation reactor employs a ring-shaped rare-earth permanent magnet coupling drive, providing high stirring torque that is comparable to mechanical stirring. It features static sealing and zero leakage. The reactor’s main material is stainless steel; depending on the specific medium requirements, it can be fabricated using special materials such as 316L stainless steel, titanium, nickel, tantalum, zirconium, Hastelloy alloys, or PTFE-lined components. The stirring bearings are equipped with self-lubricating, wear-resistant bushings, making them suitable for agitating a wide variety of media. Typically, the heating method is dry-type electric heating; however, at the customer’s request, it can also be configured with thermal oil electric heating or jacketed heating. The reactor comes with a multifunctional digital display control box for temperature and pressure monitoring. The heating system utilizes a PID automatic temperature controller for precise temperature regulation.

The reactor comes with a multi-functional digital display control box for temperature and pressure monitoring. The heating system utilizes a PID automatic temperature controller, ensuring highly precise temperature regulation.
After the instrument is set up, it can effectively suppress temperature overshoot. It offers two discharge modes—top discharge and bottom discharge—for users to choose from. The hydrogenation reactor features stable operation, low noise, and convenient operation, making it an ideal piece of equipment for conducting various chemical reactions in the laboratory.
The hydrogenation reactor is suitable for the production of xylitol, maltitol, and other products. During operation, strictly adhere to the prescribed procedures for cooling, oiling, heating, and other steps. Refer to the product manual and perform regular equipment maintenance. Operate and use the reactor strictly according to the working pressure and temperature ratings indicated on its nameplate to avoid potential hazards. When using any valves, rotate the valve stem slowly and tighten the cover carefully to ensure a secure seal in the high-pressure reactor. Avoid applying excessive force when closing the valves to prevent damage to the sealing surfaces. The electrical control instruments should be operated only by designated personnel.
What are the safety rules for using hydrogenation reactors? Let’s analyze them together below.
1. The hydrogenation reactor shall be operated exclusively by designated personnel. Two or more people must operate the hydrogenation reactor simultaneously. Full-time operators must be regular employees with expertise in this field; temporary staff may only perform auxiliary tasks and are not permitted to independently carry out hydrogen charging or discharging operations. 2. Full-time operators must have a thorough understanding of the chemical structure and physicochemical properties of the reaction feedstock for the hydrogenation reaction they are conducting; otherwise, they have the right to refuse to participate in the experiment. Operators must be familiar with the performance and operational requirements of the catalysts used, and the amount of catalyst added must not be increased arbitrarily. The purity of solvents used must be at least analytical grade; solvents below industrial-grade purity and prone to peroxide formation are strictly prohibited. 3. Operations must be conducted strictly in accordance with the operating procedures for high-pressure hydrogenation reactors, and each step must be completed carefully and meticulously. Experiments involving conditions beyond the technical specifications of the hydrogenation reactor itself—such as ultra-high temperature, ultra-high pressure, ultra-high viscosity, or ultra-large volume—are strictly forbidden. Solvents that are corrosive or destructive to the hydrogenation reactor, such as strong acids like the “three strong acids,” are also prohibited. Any behavior that violates the operating procedures must be promptly stopped by the full-time operator. 4. Every day, before entering the high-pressure hydrogenation reactor experimental area upon starting work or leaving work, be sure to turn on the ventilation fan to ensure adequate air circulation. When adding or releasing hydrogen gas, always open the ventilation system in a timely manner to maintain proper airflow. After finishing work and during holidays, all power sources and water supplies in the working area must be turned off. Check that the hydrogen cylinder valves are properly closed without any abnormalities, close doors and windows, and activate the hydrogen leak detection and alarm system.
