When using a stainless steel reactor, are you familiar with its structure? Let’s take a look together at the precautions for using a stainless steel reactor!
First, let’s take a closer look at the stainless steel reactor. The stainless steel reactor is a common piece of industrial equipment. In fact, its structure isn’t particularly complex—it consists of a reaction vessel, a stirrer with a drive system, a cooling device, safety features, and a heating furnace. Simply put, the principle behind the stainless steel reactor is to carry out a stirring reaction by adding a reactive solvent into the inner chamber. This process involves both the reaction vessel and the stirrer. The “sandwich” design utilizes different hot and cold sources to facilitate both heating and cooling reactions.
There are several points to note when using a stainless steel reactor; the following will provide a detailed explanation.
1. When installing a mechanical seal on a reactor, the sealing area should be kept clean.
2. When the temperature drops below 0°C, after use, completely drain the water from the casing to prevent freezing and damage to the equipment.
3. It is strictly prohibited to strike the enamel surface or its outer casing. During operation, care should be taken to prevent hard objects from falling into the reactor and damaging the enamel surface. Stainless steel reactors and electrically heated reactors.
4. When making openings or handholes, the enamel surface of manhole or handhole covers should be placed on cork supports. The enamel surface must not be placed directly on hard floors or steel platforms, nor should it be placed on top of other enamel surfaces. Removed clips should be kept nearby, ensuring they do not obstruct operations or pedestrian traffic.
5. During operation, try to avoid contact between the reactor vessel’s outer shell and corrosive liquids such as acids and alkalis. If the materials come into contact, immediately wipe them off with a cloth. Stainless steel reactors, electrically heated reactors
6. During operation, carefully observe whether the thermometer’s sheath is in contact with the material. Due to the high thermal resistance of the enamel tube, the temperature displayed inside the storage tank generally lags behind the actual temperature. Therefore, when heating or cooling, take into account the effects of thermal inertia and display lag.
7. Do not rinse the equipment casing with water to avoid damaging the insulation layer.
8. During use, the enameled reactor must never be subjected to sudden temperature changes—neither rapid cooling nor rapid heating—to avoid damaging the enamel surface.
9. When removing the material, if the bottom of the pot becomes clogged, do not use metal tools to tap it. Instead, gently pry open the opening with a bamboo pole, a plastic rod, or a wooden stick. If you notice any enamel chips when removing the material, immediately open the can for inspection and repair before continuing to use it.
Regular maintenance of stainless steel reactors—proactively addressing potential issues—can not only ensure the normal operation of mechanical equipment but also significantly extend its service life.
The stainless steel reactor is one of the most commonly used pieces of chemical processing equipment today, also known as a reaction tank, stirring reactor, or simply a reactor. It disperses and mixes various materials through stirring, heating, or cooling, enabling chemical reactions and polymerization processes. The reactor consists of components such as a drive system, a stirring device, a heating system, a cooling system, a sealing mechanism, and the reactor vessel itself. It is highly favored by users due to its practical effectiveness, ease of operation, and flexibility to be customized according to specific needs. The principle behind the stainless steel reactor is not complicated—it primarily relies on pressure and heat to facilitate chemical reactions. As a conveniently operated reaction device, the stainless steel reactor finds wide-ranging applications. Once you become familiar with its structure and operating principles, it becomes quite straightforward to operate. By injecting specific liquids into the stainless steel reactor, temperature control of the substances within the reaction vessel can be achieved through heating and cooling. Under a specified pressure, the stirring equipment inside the reactor causes the materials to undergo chemical reactions. After a certain reaction time, the materials flow out through the reactor’s discharge port, thus completing the reaction process.
