What is the purpose of the stainless steel reactor in the laboratory?
The stainless steel reactor in the laboratory is a reaction vessel that, through its structural design and parameter configuration, achieves the heating, evaporation, cooling, and low- to high-speed mixing functions required by the process. Consequently, the pressure requirements during the reaction also dictate different design specifications for the vessel. Production is carried out in compliance with relevant standards, involving processing, inspection, and trial runs. Depending on the production process and operating conditions, laboratory stainless steel reactors may vary in design and parameters; thus, their structural configurations differ. As such, laboratory stainless steel reactors belong to the category of non-targeted vessel equipment. Next, let’s take a closer look at laboratory stainless steel...

The stainless steel reactor in the laboratory is a reaction vessel that, through its structural design and parameter configuration, achieves the heating, evaporation, cooling, and low- and high-speed mixing functions required by the process. Consequently, the pressure requirements during the reaction also dictate different design specifications for the vessel. Production is carried out in compliance with relevant standards, involving processing, inspection, and trial runs. Depending on the production process and operating conditions, laboratory stainless steel reactors may vary in design and parameters—meaning that their structural configurations differ. As such, laboratory stainless steel reactors are classified as non-target vessel equipment. Now, let’s take a closer look at the functions of laboratory stainless steel reactors!
In industrial production, vessels used for chemical reactions come in a variety of shapes, suitable for different reaction conditions. The materials, temperature, pressure, and other parameters all vary depending on specific requirements. These vessels typically have a low, robust bottom. There are also synthesis towers—essentially serving the same purpose as reaction vessels, but with a much greater height and much smaller diameter. Because the internal media undergo vigorous reactions within these pressurized vessels, they are relatively hazardous types of reaction vessels.
Various resins—such as those used in computer motherboards and inkjet photos—are synthesized and processed using reaction vessels, which are commonly referred to as chemical reaction containers.
Characteristics of laboratory stainless steel reactors:
The laboratory stainless steel reactor is made from Hastelloy B2 material, and all parts that come into contact with the materials—including the valves and brine—are also made of Hastelloy.
3. The laboratory stainless steel reactor features a rapid, open-type structure and is equipped with functions such as a descending reactor body and a tilting mechanism.
4. The laboratory stainless steel reactor features a reasonably arranged component layout, a compact structure, and convenient installation and operation.
5. The safety valve uses a rupture disc with small deviation in the rupture pressure, rapid instantaneous venting, and high safety and reliability.
6. Equipped with needle valves and a reciprocating opening-and-closing mechanism, ensuring durability and reliable sealing. All types of valves are installed rationally, with no leaks and no dead corners. The feed port is fitted with a hose valve for easy feeding. The kettle lid opening is designed as shown in the drawings; at the spare port, the hose is bent at approximately 120 degrees to facilitate connection of hoses and other accessories.
7. To minimize the number of times the lid needs to be opened and facilitate material discharge, the material discharge valve is designed as a bottom-discharge valve, ensuring that there are no dead corners during mixing.
8. Install a backup pressure valve on the reactor, which can adjust the pressure between 1 and 5 MPa to maintain pressure equilibrium inside the reactor.
The laboratory stainless steel reactor is a versatile reactor whose structural design, functional features, and accessory configurations are tailored to specific reaction conditions. From the initial feed to the reaction process and final discharge, pre-set reaction steps can be carried out at a high level of automation, with strict control over critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, mechanical control (including stirring and air supply), and the concentrations of reactants and products.
The materials commonly used for laboratory stainless steel reactors include carbon steel and stainless steel. The agitators come in various types, such as anchor type, frame type, paddle type, turbine type, blade type, and modular type. The rotation mechanisms can employ harmonic gear reducers, stepless variable-speed reducers, or frequency converters, enabling them to meet the specific reaction requirements of different materials. Sealing devices can adopt mechanical seals, packing seals, and other sealing structures.
